I just watched this documentary on PBS called "Sick Around the World" and see that the entire show is available online (click link above and choose "Watch Full Show Online"). It was really good and along the lines of what Michael Moore covered in his movie "Sicko". It compares health care systems around the world and especially how they compare to the system in the United States.

I really enjoy the Frontline programs. I watched this healthcare episode and was frustrated to find out that the United States spends about twice as much on healthcare while delivering about half the services of the global average.

This will be a huge issue this year as the Obama Administration tries to improve our healthcare system. Corporate interests and their Republican sponsors will do a lot of lobbying and misleading to crush any attempt to change the current system which is very profitable for them.

Yeah, the pharmaceutical lobby will be coming out particularly hard as drug costs are one of the key areas that would be reformed.
